Activity Overview
Titan Missile museum is located about 40km South of Tucson, and it is run by non-profit Arizona Aerospace foundation. Titan II Missile is a 103-foot long missile inside the silo that has never been fueled and is safely displayed to the visitors. Guided tours of the site are available, there is a visitor center with a gift shop, and a small museum. Learn the dramatic vestiges of the cold war and the nuclear conflict.
Things to Do
- Families can take guided tours of the historic technology museum. See the Titan II missile that was capable of delivering a 9-megaton nuclear warhead to its target. It's a rare opportunity to see a ballistic missile in its operational environment.
- Different guided tours are offered for the visitors, one hour guided tour doesn't require reservation. Tour starts with a short informational video. Experience the Crew tours, beyond the blast door tours, and 5-hour long titan top to bottom tour.
- Moonlight madness tours run June through September, offers special activities for the kids, an activity with mad scientists, launching seltzer rockets, and sampling space food. This tour is free for children 12 and under.
- The junior missileer program is a fun activity for kids, kids will complete games and activities in the booklet and receive a badge and a certificate in the end.
- Outside food except water bottles is not allowed.
- The museum store offers apparel, books, toys and rocket and flight related gifts.
