Activity Overview
This Museum exhibits various collections of stamps for the entertainment and education of the public. It is driven by the belief of its namesake Francis Cardinal Spellman, that stamps both record and define the past whilst presaging our future. The non-profit cultural organization also serves as a center of learning and activities for all ages.
Things to Do
- The Museum holds regular events including Family Days and stamp shows. Other events which are currently upcoming are the Veteran's Day At The Museum, the Smithsonian Day and Comic Book Evaluation Day. A full list of events that the center will soon be hosting can be found on their website.
- Activities for individuals, families, seniors, boy and girl scouts and various other educational programs can be undertaken at the Museum.
- As part of the educational programs you can learn about the history, nature and culture of Massachusetts through stamps while there is also a program on how stamps display the cultural diversity of the entire United States.
- The Scout programs give both girls and boys the opportunity to earn a merit badge while learning about US and world history.
Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History Insider Tips
- The Museum is closed every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Children under 5 enter for free.
- All children who visit the museum leave with a free pack of stamps and advice on hw they can begin their own collection.
- It is possible to have private viewings of the Museum's collection if you contact them in advance. Viewings are contingent on upon the availability of the collection as well as its current condition.
