Joel Lane house is a national historic landmark that displays collections of 18th century artifacts and furnishings. The city of Raleigh was established upon the land owned by Joel Lane, the house played a substantial role in establishing Raleigh as the state capital of North Carolina. The historic house is now operated as a house museum and offers tours to the public.
