Ames Estate is a special place and a place of historical significance located in Easton, MA, 30 miles outside of Boston. The historic 36-acre Ames estate was occupied by Oliver Ames in the early 19th century. Oliver Ames was the governor of the common wealth, served as a governor of Massachusetts from 1887 to 1890. Ames Estate is a beautiful place with rolling hills, meadows, ponds and a variety of trees, visitors can come to the estate for a picnic and a nice stroll. There are no admission charges and the estate can be visited year-round and all through the week.

Things to Do

  • Families can have a nice day out at the Ames Estate, enjoy nature and explore history. There are miles of trails to explore with beautiful plants and historic trees.
  • The estate features sweeping lawns, a 19th-century stone stable, meadows, garden, pond and trails to explore.
  • Plenty of family activities are offered at the estate, if you want to learn some gardening secrets, take part in the gardening workshop in the Spring.
  • Itsy Bitsy explorers is a nature program for the young explorers in the ages 3-5, kids will be accompanied by adults.
  • You may spot wildlife while on the trails, you can get trail maps for exploration. The estate is open to public from Sunrise to sunset.
